I dedicate my role to Daniel Kish: Vikram

By Ramchander

The inspiration behind one of the two characters played by Vikram in Thaandavam was present on Wednesday (September 12). Daniel Kish from the US arrived to Chennai as part of the movie promotions and addressed the media.

Speaking at the occasion, Vikram thanked Daniel Kish for coming to Chennai and said, "I dedicate my role to Daniel. We couldn't have done this without him." Kish is known as a real-life Batman. He became blind when he was 13-months-old but that did not distract him from leading a normal life.

He used reflected sound waves to build a mental picture of his surroundings which is called as a form of human echolocation. Now, he is running a non-profit organisation named World Access for the Blind to train other blind people.

Kish has trained Vikram and gave inputs about echolocation before starting the project. "I had a delightful experience working with Vikram. I felt like I was training one of my own students." He also said that he lost his one eye a few months after his birth and second one when he was 13 months old.

Thaandavam is directed by AL Vijay and produced by UTV Motion Pictures. It also features Anushka Shetty, Amy Jackson and Jagapathi Babu in the key roles.
