Maattrraan,
like
Billa

opened
up
to
mixed
reviews

films
starring
A-list
actors

a
dream
start
at
the
Tamil
Box
Office.
The
Surya
starrer
recently
released
Tamil
film
has
made
an
earth-shattering
business
in
the
opening
weekend,
thereby
breaking
the
record

was
released

Billa
2
had
raked

the
Domestic
Box
Office.
Whereas,
Surya's
Maattrraan
has
done
a
slightly
better
business
in
Tamil
Nadu.
The
trader
reports
claim
that
the
film
has
collected
Rs
19.15
nett
in
the
opening
weekend
in
Tamil
Nadu
alone.
In
Kerala,
Billa
2
has
reportedly
earned
around
Rs
1.4
crore
and
Maattrraan
has
done
a
magnificent
business
by
collecting
Rs
2.86
crore
in
the
God's
Own
Country.
Reports
add
that
Maattrraan
has
been
overwhelmingly
welcomed
by
Surya's
fans.
While
the
occupancy
for
the
movie
in
most
of
the
theatres
in
Chennai
witnessed
around
90%,
other
regions,
on
average,
had
around
75%
occupancy.
However,
in
the
International
Box
Office,
Maattrraan
has
done
good
business
in
the
US.
Reports
from
other
countries
are
awaited.
Maattrraan
is
directed
by
KV
Anand
and
produced
by
Kalpathi
S
Aghoram.
The
movie

Surya
and
Kajal
Aggarwal
in
the
lead
roles.
