Srinivasan files lawsuit against Kamal Hassan

Kamal Hassan's special article about the his classic Nayagan on a leading daily has now created a controversy. The actor's comments on producer Mukta Srinivasan has made the producer to file a defamation case against Kamal.

In the article, Kamal Hassan has repeatedly said about Mukta Srinivasan's lack of passion for the film and expressed his uneasiness over his style of working. Indeed, Mukti Srinivasan was money-minded and was only bothered about profits than making a good film.

The actor added that Mukta Srinivasan was objecting every now and then, when Kamal Hassan and Mani Ratnam wanted to shoot something different to give a realistic look to the film. However, as too-much of differences cropped up in the final stage, the actor decided to buy the film. It was all because of frustration and there were no hard feelings, claimed the Ulaganayagan.

This article has not gone well with Mukta Srinivasan and he has filed a defamation case against Kamal Hassan. In a press release, he wrote, "Kamal Hassan has written an article in a leading daily titled 'Of course Velunayakan doesn't dance'. In the said article, he has said he has narrated incidents which never took place with an intention to defame me and bring down my reputation in the film world."

He concludes, "I am deeply hurt. I am now contemplating legal action against Kamal Hassan and the daily which has published the same without verifying.
