Nayantara says no to Mani Ratnam

It is well-known that Nayantara is being showered with offers from all South Indian film industries. We had reported earlier that the Billa girl was approached by Mani Ratnam for his upcoming Kadal to play a leading role after Samantha opted out of the movie, but now it is said that Nayan was offered to pair up with Arjun Sarja which she has turned down politely.

If the buzz has to be believed, Mani Ratnam did not offer the female lead role rather offered an important character in the movie. She was offered to pair up with Arjun Sarja. The actress, who considered the offer for a while, opted out of the film, as she was not sure whether the character would have enough potential in it to showcase her talent. The only reason she gave a thought for it because it was a Mani Ratnam movie.

However, as Nayantara felt that the character was not impressive, she politely turned down the film. The other reason for opting out of Kadal is lack of dates. After she announced her comeback, offers started coming her way from every industry and the actress signed quite a few movies in a row that left her with no time for the Mani Ratnam, say rumour mills.

Kadal marks the debut of Gautham, the son of actor Karthik, and Tulasi, the daughter of actress Radha. The latter was roped in after Samantha walked out of the film citing date issues. The forthcoming movie also features Arjun Sarja, Arvind Swamy and Lakshmi Manchu in important roles.
