Neethaane En Ponvasantham audio launch: Ilaiyaraaja's musical evening

The audio of Neethaane En Ponvasantham was released on Saturday (September 1) in a grand manner at Nehru Stadium in Chennai. The event was a pure bliss for the music lovers, as some of all time hit tracks composed by Ilaiyaraaja were played at the function.

The guest list included: K Balachander, Balu Mahendra, Bharathiraja, P Vasu, Suresh Krishna, Yuvan Shankar Raja, Surya, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Karthik Raja, Premji, Venkat Prabhu, Samuthirakani, R Sunderajan, Ravi K Chandran, Jeeva, Samantha and Santhanam.

Director Gautham Menon himself hosted the show along with singer Karthik. The event took off with a documentary on Ilaiyaraaja being played to audience to showcase his achievements. It was followed by some ear-pleasing instrumental renditions by the London and Hungary-based musicians.

Gautham Menon welcomed Ilaiyaraaja on stage and requested him to croon popular tracks like Kodai Kala, Athadi, Oru Poongavanam, Thenpandi Seemaile, Thenpandi Seemaile, Raja Kaiyya Vecha, etc. During the process, the audience went crazy and tried to cheer the mood by blowing whistle for which the music director requested not to do it but just to enjoy the songs.

However, the audio launch event of Neethaane En Ponvasantham, the movie that stars Jeeva and Samantha, will be aired on Jaya TV.
