Priyanka Chopra approached for Shankar's Tamil movie I?

Director Shankar's upcoming Tamil movie I, which is also simultaneously made in Telugu and Hindi, has often been making headlines in the recent times and that too in connection with the casting female lead in the film. The rumours mills in the K-Town are abuzz with the news that Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra has been approached for this much-anticipated movie, which is produced by Aascar Ravichandran.

Interestingly, the news about Priyanka Chopra started doing rounds soon after another Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone denied reports that she has been approached for the multilingual film I. Reports suggest that Piggy Chops has been approached by the producers of the film an year ago.

Reports suggest that Shankar's I starring Vikram in the male lead, is set in two different time period. Actress Amy Jackson is reportedly playing the female lead in one portion. Now, the producers are in search of another popular actress for another portion. They are reportedly in talks with PC, who is expected to take a call on it soon.

Meanwhile, a source close to the actress admits that Priyanka Chopra was approached by a member from Shankar's team for a film and that too last year and she had rejected the offer as she was busy working round the clock. But the source denies that PC has not been approached by anyone now.

However, the source did not turn down the possibility of PC signing the movie I. It further says that Shankar is a very big director in South India and getting an opportunity to work with him is a big deal. The source adds, "If dates can be worked out, Priyanka Chopra will sign the movie."
