Rajinikanth donates Rs 10 crore to Mantralayam

By Ramchander

Rajinikanth is a big devote of Mantralayalam Sri Raghavendra Swamy. He has often donated funds to the welfare of the mutt, which is located in Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh. Now, the superstar has contributed Rs 10 crore for the development of the holy shrine.

The Tamil superstar visits Mantralayalam regularly with his family members. Like Kannada superstar late Dr Rajkumar, Rajinikanth became a staunch follower of Sri Raghavendra Swamy after acting in the biopic (Sri Raghavendra in the year 1985) of the saint. It is also well-known that he gifts photos of the Swamy to guests, who come to his house.

A press statement from the temple claims that the old building will be renovated and about 25 rooms with air-condition facilities and 100 general rooms will also be constructed. It may be recalled that the flood in the later 2009 had left Mantralaya in a shambles. The lodges, kitchen, roads and other assets worth Rs 100 crore were destroyed.

Meanwhile, Rajinikanth's next movie Kochadaiyaan will hit the screens on December 12, which coincides with his birthday. The movie, which also features Deepika Padukone, is directed by his daughter Soundarya Ashwin.
