Rajinikanth-Kamal Hassan to return with Marudhanayagam

The living icons of Tamil cinema, Rajinikanth and Kamal Hassan, who acted together in Apoorva Raagangal, Vayasu Pilichindi, Anthuleni Katha, etc., may come together soon again. Marudhanayagam, which was on cold storage for over a decade, is being revived by Kamal and he has claimed that Rajini has a role in the movie.

A Mumbai-based tabloid claims that Kamal Hassan is keen to complete his long-pending Marudhanayagam, which was started in 1997 before dropping midway due to financial constraints. Now, the Universal Star has expressed his wish to take up the project. Incidentally, the character that was portrayed by Kamal was supposed to take a ten-year-leap and this could come as a blessing, adds the Tamil actor.

On asked about teaming up with Rajinikanth, Kamal Hassan said that they featured in 10 films and since then, they could not act together due to proper scripts. The actor further adds that there is a role in the film that fits Rajinikanth in Marudhanayagam and it appears like the time has come for them to join hands again.
