Samantha surprisingly out of Shankar’s I

Gorgeous Samantha might consider herself unlucky as she has lost two big films in succession. After opting out of Mani Ratnam's Kadal, the actress has now turned down the offer to pair up with Vikram in Shankar's next film I.

Exactly a week after Shankar announced the cast and crew of his I, the surprising news has arrived that Samantha has opted out of the forthcoming movie citing date issues. The actress had given the same reason when she walked out of Mani Ratnam's Kadal a few weeks ago.

It is believed that dazzling Samantha could not allot the required dates for I due to her prior commitments. As the dates asked by Shankar were clashing with her other Telugu movies, she choose to turn down the offer.

Meanwhile, Shankar has started searching for an A-list actress as her replacement. He is also thinking to cast a new face, claims a report. The director, who wants to start in mid-July, is also hunting locations for the shoots.

I is a romantic-thriller, which has AR Rahman's music, PC Sriram's cinematography, also features Santhanam, Malayalam actor Suresh Gopi, Ramkumar (Nadigar Thilakam Sivaji Ganesan's eldest son) and others. It is produced by Aascar Ravichandran.
