Shahrukh Khan likely to star in AR Murugadoss' Ramana remake

We reported a few months ago that Shahrukh Khan would star in the remake of AR Murugadoss directorial Tamil superhit film Ramana. Now, it has been revealed that ace filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali has acquired the rights and he has approached the King Khan.

Sources have said that Shahrukh Khan is likely to star in the Hindi version of Ramana. Sanjay Leela Bhansali was impressed by the film and bagged the remake rights and offered the film to SRK. It is also said that the actor has liked the role, as he has not played the role of a vigilante till date.

The interesting part of the story is that AR Murugadoss is reportedly helming the project. The filmmaker, who had earlier said that he would direct a Shahrukh Khan film, has decided to go on with Ramana remake, as the decade-old subject has relevance even today.

Ramana tells the story of a professor, who uproots corruption by building a strong student chain of network, killing the bribe takers and giving justice to the common man. It was made in several languages - like Tagore in Telugu, which starred Chiranjeevi and Vishusena in Kannada starring Dr Vishnuvardhan - and all the versions were declared blockbusters.
