Is Shankar helming Thalaivan Irukinran? Yes, says rumour mills. The buzz in the industry is that the filmmaker will direct the mega-budget multilingual movie, which stars Kamal Hassan in the lead role.

According to some reports, Shankar is joining hands with Kamal Hassan, who has written the story of Thalaivan Irukinran. It comes as a no surprise because the Endhiran director has often made films on anti-corruption including the Universal Star's Indian way back in 1996 and when the offer landed on his table, he accepted it without any hesitation, add reports.

However, neither Shankar nor Kamal Hassan has confirmed the news. The movie produced by Aascar Ravichandran reportedly features Hollywood star Jackie Chan in an important role.
