Sony Music, which has started acquiring the audio rights of many Tamil films, has bagged yet another biggie. Well, it has procured the music rights of Surya's much-awaited film Maatraan for an astonishing price.

The buzz says that Eros International, which had acquired the distribution rights of Maatraan in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka regions, has sold the music rights to Sony Music. Though there are many figures being circulated on the internet, the exact amount has not been revealed yet. However, it is believed that the audio rights have fetched more than a crore, claims a trader.

Sony Music is now planning to host a grand audio launch function in association with the makers of Maatraan. The music release function is expected to be held either in the second or third week of July in Chennai.

Maatraan directed by KV Anand is a high-voltage action film starring electrifying Surya and sensational Kajal Aggarwal. Harris Jayaraaj has composed six tracks for the multilingual movie.
