Surya's Singam 2 takes off

By Ramchander

Surya's Singam 2, a sequel to blockbuster Singam, took off on Wednesday (September 19) on the auspicious day of Ganesh Chathurthi in Chennai. The movie started rolling with a formal pooja that was graced by Sivakumar, Karthi, N Lingusamy, Hari and other noted names of Kollywood.

The forthcoming movie directed by Hari also features Anushka Shetty and Hansika Motwani, who were not present at the muhurath of Singam 2. However, there is also buzz that either Nayantara or Shriya Saran will be doing an item number in the film. The interesting part of the cast is that comedians Vivek and Santhanam have been signed to play some important roles in the movie.

The regular shooting has been delayed, as Surya has been completely busy with his next movie Maattrraan. It is expected to start in the first week of October. Sources have also said that Singam 2 will be much bigger and better than the first instalment. The Tamil movie will be reportedly shot in South Africa and Kenya.

While KE Gnanavel Raja is the producer of the movie, Devi Sri Prasad is the music composer and Priyan is the cinematographer of Singam 2.
