The
title
controversy
of
upcoming
movie
Thuppakki
has
left
the
film
unit
in
troubled
waters,
resulting
in
the
cancellation
of
the
trailer
launch
function,
which
was
supposed
to
be
held
in
the
first
week
of
July.
Like
all
Vijay
fans,
director
AR
Murugadoss
is
also
waiting
to
settle
the
issue
so
that
they
can
release
the
teasers
of
the
movie.
The
fans
of
Vijay,
who
were
eagerly
waiting
for
the
release
of
Thuppakki
teaser,
are
disappointed
with
the
development.
They
are
not
only
expressing
their
unhappiness
on
social
networking
sites,
but
also
pressing
the
director
on
Twitter
to
resolve
the
issue
at
the
earliest.
Responding
to
their
queries,
AR
Murugadoss
replied,
"Waiting
for
the
title
issue
to
get
resolved
legally
!..then
teaser
will
b
out
soon..and
as
usual
VJ
is
awesome
(sic)."
Thuppakki
trailer
launch
was
originally
planned
to
release
for
Vijay's
birthday
(June
22),
but
due
to
some
reasons
it
was
postponed,
but
AR
Murugadoss
had
promised
that
it
would
be
released
in
the
first
week
of
July.
However,
after
Ravi
Devan,
a
former
associate
of
Kamal
Hassan,
brought
the
interim
injunction
order
from
the
court
against
the
makers
of
Thuppakki
from
using
the
title
and
its
logo,
the
trailer
launch
plans
went
for
a
toss.
He
had
claimed
that
the
title
of
the
Vijay's
movie
sounds
similar
to
his
film
Kalla
Thuppakki.
Now,
the
hearing
is
scheduled
for
July
16
and
the
trailer
launch
event
has
to
be
postponed
if
both
the
parties
could
not
find
an
amicable
solution
outside
the
court.
