Abdul Kalam is very simple: Vivek

Tamil comedian Vivek was inactive on-screen for two years. This does not mean that he was not having any offers, Vivek was busy working with India's former Prime Minister APJ Abdul Kalam on the Green Kalam project.

In an awareness drive on tree planting, Vivek was asked to plant ten lakh saplings initially, later the goal was increased to one crore. Speaking about Kalam, Vivek said, “It was an indeed honour, He chose me as the face of campaign over so many others. He would have chosen anybody in the industry, but he chose me and I couldn't say 'No' and it was a privilege.”

Further Vivek added, “I wont regret spending time in the campaign, and working with Kalam made me to realise how simple he is in life and I have something in life I will be proud of. With this busy schedule I couldn't make time for the films.” Vivek made a strong come-back with the recent hit Singam 2.
