Actor-Director Cheran Breaks Down
Tamil actor-director Cheran of Autograph fame, broke down in the press conference, on Sunday, in Chennai. He was addressing the press, on the issues based on the allegations made by his daughter Damini on him.
Cheran's daughter Damini, in a complaint filed on Friday alleged that her boyfriend, Chandru had been threatened by the men hired by her father.
Speaking to media persons, Cheran said, "I have always stood for love, beyond caste and religion, but now my daughter is trapped and I am being made out to be a villain."
Cheran said that Chandru has cheated many girls earlier and police had registered a case against him. He said, "How can I send my daughter with a person who doesn't value or respect women?" "He has also sent messages to my elder daughter, claiming that he loved her," Cheran added.

Sources alleged that, Cheran's opposition to his daughter's relationship is purely based on Chandru's caste.

Rubbishing the allegations, Cheran cleared that he has brought up his daughter without any religious or caste prejudices, and asks how can he send his daughter with a person who is a cheat.

Talking about Chandru, director Cheran said, "Chandru wanted to act in movies, and we suspect that he has been making use of my daughter to get into films. He wanted to become a hero in my movie and wanted me to recommend him to others."
Press Conference
Director Cheran was accompanied by his wife Selvarani and director Ameer to the press conference. Taking Cheran side, his wife Selvarani said they would not change their stand against his daughter's relationship with Chandru.

Ameer said, "KK Nagar police had earlier registered a case of cheating against Chandru. The case was later settled. We have gathered information about many such cases. There is enough evidence to show that Chandru's character is questionable."

On Sunday evening, Police have registered FIR against director Cheran based on complaint filed by his daughter Damini and Chandru under information technology act for harassing Cheran's elder daughter online.
