After
Directors'
Association,
now
the
entire
film
fraternity
is
set
to
go
for
a
day-long
fast
on
Tuesday
(April
2)
against
the
reported
genocide
of
Tamils
in
Sri
Lanka.
Some
of
the
big
names
have
already
confirmed
their
presence
at
the
strike.
Ajith
Kumar
and
Vijay
have
already
confirmed
that
they
will
be
participating
in
the
event.
For
the
second
time
within
two
weeks,
the
Tamil
film
industry
will
join
hands
to
observe
a
day-long
fast.
The
first
fast
was
observed
March
19
in
Chennai.
While
the
Tamil
Nadu
Film
Directors
Association
(TANTIS)
and
Film
Employees'
Federation
of
South
India
(FEFSI)
spearheaded
the
earlier
fast,
the
Nadigar
Sangam
-
also
known
as
South
Indian
Film
Artistes'
Association
(SIFAA)
-
will
fast
in
support
of
Sri
Lankan
Tamils
on
April
2.
"We
received
an
overwhelming
response
for
our
token
fast
in
March.
However,
everybody
from
the
industry
couldn't
participate
because
of
tight
schedules.
This
time,
we
are
hopeful
of
a
bigger
turnout.
Actors
who
couldn't
make
it
last
time
have
postponed
shooting
to
join
the
fast," a
member
of
SIFAA
told
IANS.

Vijay
"(Actor)
Ajith
sir
has
already
postponed
his
shooting,
while
Kamal
sir
and
Rajini
sir
are
likely
to
join.
We
are
happy
with
the
response
we
have
received
since
the
token
fast,
but
we
hope
for
more," he
added.
Ajith
And
Vijay
Does
the
presence
of
all
actors
make
a
difference?
"Last
time,
the
fast
was
initiated
by
the
directors' association.
This
time
the
artistes
will
take
part
too.
If
all
big
actors
join
the
fast,
the
movement
is
sure
to
pick
up
momentum
and
will
help
in
highlighting
the
issue
more,"
he
said.
Ajith
And
Vijay
The
fast
will
take
place
at
the
Nadigar
Sangam
premises
in
Chennai.
Ajith
And
Vijay
"We
have
cancelled
all
shootings
for
the
day
and
have
also
requested
everybody
shooting
out
of
Chennai
to
return
and
participate
in
the
fast," a
SIFAA
member
added.
