Akshara Hassan Ready To Take A Plunge Into Acting

Akshara Hassan, the daughter of Kamal Hassan and Sarika, is ready to take a plunge into acting. The actress, who was interested in filmmaking, has surprisingly decided to don grease paint after a good offer from Bollywood knocked her doors.

She will be romancing none other than Dhanush in her debut movie, but it is not a Tamil flick rather a Hindi movie directed by R Balki of Cheeni Kum and Paa fame. It also stars Bollywood Megastar Amitabh Bachchan in one of the lead roles.

"Kamalji and Sarikaji thought Akshara was more interested in direction. Sarika put her on to her friend Rahul Dholakia with whom she has worked in Parzania and Society. Akshara assisted Rahul Dholakia and the whole family thought she was heading towards a career in filmmaking," the IANS quotes a source close to the Hassan family as saying.

Earlier, When Kamal Hassan was asked about Akshara's career, he had said, "She has assisted Mr Rahul Dholakia. I think she is more keen on filmmaking than acting. Every time Akshara stands behind the camera and says, 'This is where I want to be', I am reminded of myself."

Kamal Hassan had claimed that he started behind the camera and graduated to acting and his daughter too could follow his footsteps.
