Confirmed: Vikram-Jeeva's David to release on Feb 1

By Ramchander

There were a lot of rumours on Vikram's multilingual film David getting postponed but the director of the film has cleared the rumours and has announced that the film will release as planned before.

Director Bejoy Nambiar on Twitter wrote, "DAVID HINDI & TAMIL RELEASING ON 1st FEB ! NO CHANGE IN PLANS! Guys I don't get to decide on the dates. It was a joint decision and keeping in mind all the variables it was the only way to go for us."

The rumours started after the Kamal Hassan's Vishwaroopam was cleared for release by a Madras High Court judge before a division bench comprising Acting Chief Justice Elipe Dharma Rao and Aruna Jagadeesan quashed it, effectively stalling its release.

It was said that the makers of the film were not keen to clash with Kamal Hassan's Vishwaroopam and with Mani Ratnam's Kadal, which is releasing tomorrow (February 1). Meanwhile, David has been passed the censor test with U/A certificate.

David is an action-thriller, which stars Neil Nitin Mukesh, Vinay Virmani, Lara Dutta, Tabu and Isha Sharvani in the important roles. However, Jeeva is stepping into the shoes of Neil in the Tamil version of the film and most of the casts remain same.
