After the massive success of Kalakalappu, the combo of UTV Motion Pictures and Sundar C are back with Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru. While in the first-mentioned movie, there were a lot of budding actors, in the latest film, the director has chosen established stars like Siddharth, Hansika Motwani and Ganesh Venkataraman.

Like his earlier film, Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru also belongs to comedy genre. Also, the film is simultaneously shot in Telugu titled Something Something with almost same cast. However, the interesting part of the story is Samantha and Vishal Krishna have made guest appearance. Whereas in Telugu, Rana Daggubati has stepped into Vishal's role.

The director himself has penned the story and screenplay. While Gopi Amarnath has handled the camera, C Sathya has handled the music department.
