Ganesh Venkatram Enters Bollywood With Polladhavan Remake

By Ramchander

Ganesh Venkatraman will make his Bollywood debut in the Hindi remake of Vetrimaaran's Polladhavan, which is titled as Guns Of Benaras.

He will play the antagonist in the film played by Daniel Balaji in the original, while Karan Nath will play Dhanush's role. The entire script revolves around the clash between these two characters.

Ganesh says, "When director Shekhar Suri narrated my character, I absolutely loved it. I haven't played a rugged gangster like this before. The entire film is set in Benaras. I play the role of a cocaine addict."

He claims, "I am sporting a rugged beard and a tattoo of an aghori baba on my arms. Though I can speak fluent Hindi, I went to Benaras 20 days in advance to pick up the UP lingo and also to study the body language of the local mafia."

Talking about the cast and crew, he says, "Nathalia Kaur is playing the female lead, while Vinod Khanna, Abhimanyu Singh and Shilpa Shirodkar are playing important roles."

He adds, "The technical team is top notch. The highlight of the film will be the action sequences, choreographed by Shyam Kaushal who won the Filmfare for Gangs Of Wasseypur and have also directed stunts for Oscar Award winning movie Slumdog Millionaire."

Music will be composed by Sohail Sen, who had earlier composed music for Salman Khan's Ek Tha Tiger. The team is in talks with GV Prakash to do the background score.

Meanwhile, Ganesh Venkatraman is awaiting the release of Ivan Vera Mathiri and is also shooting for Accharam where he plays the lead.
