Gautham Karthik Turns 24

Actor Gautham Karthik, who turned 24 today, September 12, is busy shooting for upcoming Tamil romantic comedy Vai Raja Vai.

Sources said, "He celebrated his birthday with family and close friends last (Wednesday) night and joined the crew for shoot this (Thursday) morning. An important scene featuring Gautham has been canned."

Directed by Aishwarya Dhanush, Vai Raja Vai went on floors today in Chennai. It also features Priya Anand and Satish in important roles. AGS Entertainment is producing the film, which has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja.

Gautham Karthik is the son of Karthik Muthuraman and actress Ragini Karthik, and grandson of Tamil ace actor R Muthuraman. He made his debut with Mani Ratnam's Kadal, which was released in February 2013. He played the role of a deprived youngster in the movie, and got thumbs up for his performance from the critics.

The young actor will also reprise Nani's role in the Tamil remake Ala Modalaindi in which he will be paired opposite Rakul Preet Singh. It is directed by debutant Ravi Thyagarajan. Meanwhile, Karthik is simultaneously shooting for Tamil film Sippai, in which he is paired opposite Lakshmi Menon. He is also working in Ennamo Yedho, which is scheduled to hit screen in 2014.
