Geeta Basra to romance Santhanam

Santhanam, who had romanced Bollywood babe Vishaka Singh in this year's hit movie Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya, will be pairing up with yet another B-Town girl in his next flick. Well, glamorous actress Geeta Basra has been approached to play female lead in his next flick, which is a remake of Telugu superhit flick Marayada Ramanna.

Geeta Basra is UK born actress, who is reportedly dating cricketer Harbhajan Singh. She has acted a few Hindi movies and the actress has done a special appearance in recently released Hindi flick Zilla Ghaziabad. However, she has featured in an ad for a jewellery directed by our own Rajiv Menon.

The 28-year-old has confirmed the news to a leading daily and has said that the talks are on. Geeta Basra claims that in all probabilities she is likely to sign the project soon. When asked about Santhanam, Geeta Basra said that she has not seen his movies but knows that he is a star in Tamil films and she is aware of is sense of humour.

Reports say that her casting will be confirmed once Geeta Basra meets Santhanam.

"Santhanam was supposed to meet Geeta when she was recently in Chennai but couldn't meet her. Now, she has gone to London. So, everything will be decided once Santhanam meets her," The Times of India quotes a source as saying.

The forthcoming film directed by SS Rajamouli starred Sunil and Saloni. It was remade in Bollywood last year as Son of Sardar, which featured Ajay Devgn, Sonakshi Sinha and Sanjay Dutt.
