Legendary
filmmaker
K
Balachander
has
praised
the
last
week
release
Thillu
Mullu,
a
remake
of
his
own
film
of
the
same
name
starring
superstar
Rajinikanth.
He
has
said
that
the
latest
film
perfectly
suits
the
tastes
of
the
new-age
audience.
The
1981
Thillu
Mullu
was
an
official
remake
of
Hindi
classic
Golmaal
featuring
Amol
Palekar.
The
Tamil
film
had
become
one
of
the
biggest
hits
of
the
80s.
It
also
has
to
be
noted
that
it
was
the
first
movie
of
the
superstar
in
a
full-fledged
comedy
role.
"I'm
happy
the
makers
have
taken
efforts
and
made
my
film
into
a
commercial
entertainer.
The
remake
is
completely
new
to
me
but
director
Badri
has
made
it
in
such
a
way
that
it's
apt
for
the
current
generation
of
cinemagoers," said
Balachander
in
a
statement.
The
remake
features
Shiva,
Isha
Talwar
and
Prakash
Raj
in
the
lead
roles.
It's
the
story
of
the
protagonist
who
lands
up
a
job
with
a
lie,
and
is
forced
to
act
as
his
own
twin
to
avoid
being
fired.

Glaring
Differences
One
of
the
glaring
differences
between
the
two
versions
is
the
treatment
of
comedy.
While
in
the
original
it
was
sensible
and
funny,
it
is
loud
and
commercial
in
the
remake.
Positive
Vibes
Thillu
Mullu
opened
up
to
positive
reviews.
The
treatment
and
the
tweaking
of
the
script
to
suit
the
present
generation
have
been
praised
by
audience
and
critics.

Remake
Creators...
The
latest
movie
is
produced
by
S
Madhan
of
Vendhar
Movies
and
it
is
directed
by
newcomer
Badri.
It
had
a
worldwide
release
on
June
14.
Performance
Performance
wise,
Shiva
is
brilliant.
His
innocence
and
the
way
he
delivers
one-liners
get
full
marks.
The
point
that
has
to
be
noted
here
is
that
the
young
actor
has
not
tried
to
imitate
the
superstar
Rajini.
Other
Cast
Prakash
Raj
perfectly
fits
the
role.
The
way
he
expresses
his
anger
and
humour
makes
people
to
burst
with
laughter.
Heroine
Isha
Talwar
has
a
good
screen
space
in
the
movie
and
is
very
charming.
