Nayantara steps into the shoes of Vidya Balan
Hot and happening Nayantara seems to be ready to shed her 'glamorous' image. Ever since the actress returned to films after breaking up with choreographer-turned-director Prabhu Deva, the 29-year-old has been cautiously picking up the roles that gave ample scope to show her acting prowess. It is no surprise that the actress signed a series of movies that does not require to expose her skin. In the process, she got an offer to step into the shoes of Vidya Balan and she grabbed it with both hands!
Well, we are talking about the South Indian versions of Bollywood hit film Kahaani. Nayantara will be doing the character famously made by Vidya Balan in the Hindi version. The film is simultaneously shot in Tamil and Telugu, and the story is set in Hyderabad. The movie produced by Endemol India, Logline Productions and Select Media Holdings. The forthcoming flick has been titled Anamika.
After considering a few actresses, the offer knocked the doors of Nayantara. The actress was very impressed by the script by Sekhar Kammula. The director's eye for minute details made her to accept the role.

Be it costumes or the changes made in the script to suit the South Indians, she noticed all the factors that made her to take up the film without a second thought. When signed, the actress had said, "I am very happy that I am doing a film like Kahaani."

According to the director, the team has done their homework well and hopes to give their best. "We hope to give a good spin to it. We are keeping the soul and the quest intact, but will do changes with the end. As far as setting is concerned, Hyderabad would be a great place to set the story."

The shooting of Anamika was started on Sunday (April 28) in Hyderabad. The makers of the film wants to complete the shooting in 50 days.
Nayantara In Kahaani Remake
Renowned novelist Yandamoori Veerendranath has co-written the adaptation with Sekhar Kammula for the remake of Kahaani. Vijay C Kumar will be the director of photography, while Marthand Venkatesh handles the editing work for the film.

The story of Nayantara starrer Anamika revolves around a pregnant woman's relentless search for her missing husband. The original version was directed by Sujoy Ghosh and featured Vidya Balan, Parambrata Chatterjee, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Indraneil Sengupta and others in the cast.
