Singam 2 is not a sequel to Singam: Hari

By Ramchander

Director Hari, whose full name is Hari Gopalakrishnan, has said that his forthcoming film Singam 2 starring Surya Sivakumar is not a sequel to his earlier blockbuster film Singam. Surprised? Well, according to the filmmaker it is an extension of the first instalment and not a sequel!

The second part is a continuation of the first with additional characters. In a statement, director Hari said, "I have retained all the characters from the first part and I have also added a few more actors in Singam 2, which makes it a continuation of the first part. Probably for the first time in Tamil cinema such a feat is attempted,"

The director claims that he had written the Singam 2 story even before its first instalment. The success of Singam made him to develop the complete script of Singam 2. "I had developed the story for the second part even before Singam was released. Following the success of Singam, I decided to work on Singam 2 and I have received lot of encouragement from my team," he said.

Singam 2 features Suriya Sivakumar, Anushka Shetty, Hansika Motwani, Vivek, Santhanam, Nassar, Vijay Kumar, Radha Ravi, Mukesh Rishi and Manorama. Continue reading the story on the slideshow...
