Surya
has
officially
walked
out
of
Gautham
Menon's
prestigious
movie
Dhruva
Natchathiram.
The
flick,
which
hit
the
floors
a
few
months
ago
and
generated
huge
expectations
from
the
audience,
has
been
shelved
due
to
the
director's
inability
to
produce
a
bound
script
before
the
actor
in
a
limited
time.
This
made
the
Ghajini
star
to
walk
out
of
the
flick.
When
Surya
announced
that
he
walked
out
of
Dhruva
Natchathiram,
many
doubted
if
it
was
a
right
decision
from
his
part,
and
industry
insiders
assumed
that
this
could
lead
them
to
turn
foes.
But
there
is
more
to
the
story.
If
rumour
mills
are
to
be
believed,
the
38-year-old
has
displayed
his
generosity
by
compensating
for
opting
out
of
the
Gautham
Menon
directorial
flick.
Well,
before
getting
into
the
actual
story,
let
us
recall
a
tale
where
Surya
helped
his
mentor
director
Vasanth.
The
filmmaker
has
introduced
him
with
Nerukku
Neru.
When
Vasanth
approached
him
again
in
the
later
years,
the
7aam
Arivu
star
could
not
join
hands
again.
But
he
promised
the
director
to
give
a
fixed
amount
for
his
project.
The
deal
was
that
the
director
would
return
the
amount
if
the
movie
which
was
offered
to
Surya,
becomes
a
hit.
Now,
the
actor
has
done
the
same
for
Gautham
Menon.

Surya
Paid
Compensation
Surya
has
reportedly
given
Rs
10
crores
to
Gautham
Menon.
As
he
could
not
associate
with
him,
the
actor
paid
the
amount
as
a
compensation.
Surya's
Advance
Surya
had
taken
five
crore
rupees
as
an
advance
to
star
in
Dhruva
Natchathiram.
Decision
Taken
Keeping
His
Career
Interest
In
Mind
After
deciding
to
walk
out
of
the
movie,
Surya
told
Gautham
Menon
that
he
doesn't
want
to
be
part
of
the
movie.
He
has
been
getting
offers
from
various
filmmakers
and
delaying
Dhruva
Natchathiram
will
not
help
his
career
at
this
point
of
time.
Gautham
Menon
Unhappy
Gautham
Menon
was
not
happy,
but
told
Surya
that
his
decision
would
put
his
project
in
trouble.
Surya
Paid
Additional
Amount...
In
order
to
bail
out
Gautham
Menon
from
the
financial
crisis,
Surya
returned
the
advance
amount
and
paid
additional
five
crores
to
the
filmmaker.
The
Deal
Gautham
Menon
would
continue
the
project
with
a
different
actor
and
if
the
movie
does
well,
the
director
has
to
return
the
amount.
I
Only
Do
films
If
I
Like
The
Story:
Surya
However,
in
a
press
release,
Surya
claimed
recently,
"I
only
do
films
if
I
like
the
story.
I
quite
liked
Gautham's
story,
but
requested
him
to
tweak
it
a
little.
But
I
waited
for
six
months
and
I'm
still
waiting."
My
Wait
Ended
In
Vain:
Surya
"Unfortunately,
my
wait
has
ended
in
(vain),
therefore
I'm
pulling
out
of
this
project."
Surya
alleged
that
Gautham
Menon
had
earlier
done
the
same
with
Chennaiyil
Oru
Mazhaikaalam.
Dhruva
Natchathiram
Dhruva
Natchathiram
was
launched
in
May.
Menon
had
also
cast
few
actors
for
the
film
and
even
shot
a
few
scenes.
"I
can't
wait
any
longer
as
I
feel
Gautham
and
I
are
heading
in
opposite
directions
in
our
ideologies,"
Surya
ended.
