Teachers play a very important role in building up the career of a student. A successful person in the world will be guided by a teacher, who can also be called as a 'God Father' in other terms. Teacher (Guru) helps the student to know everything about the field and he can understand his mind more than their parents do. Teachers can be strict, they can be fun, and they can touch people's lives in many ways.

Kollywood has seen the teachers, who mentored their students on and off screen.Ace director K Balachandran is looked up as guru by superstar Rajinikanth and Ullaganayangan Kamal Hassan. Even after they gain star status in the industry, there are many artists in Kollywood, who still consider K Balachandran as their guru.
