release

Tamil
Nadu
and
Puducherry
on
August
20.
The
movie
is
likely
to
hit
500
screens
across

the
tag

Lead'
has
been
removed
from
all
publicity
materials
and
promotional
content
following
a
'request'
from
Vendhar
Movies,
who
is
the
distributors
for
the
film.
On
the
number
of
theatres
the
film
is
likely
to
be
screened,
Amma
Creations
Siva,
an
associate
of
Vendhar
Movies,
said
the
film
will
be
screened
in
500
halls
in
Tamil
Nadu.
The
film,
with
Ilayathalapthy
Vijay
and
Amala
Paul
in
the
lead
roles,
was
expected
to
be
released
on
August
9,
but
had
been
stalled
in
the
backdrop
of
bomb
threats
from
a
little
known
outfit
opposed
to
Vendhar
Movies.
Two
days
before
its
scheduled
release,
Thalaivaa
was
stalled
from
being
released
when
a
political
outfit
issued
bomb
threats
to
theatre
owners
in
Chennai.
On
August
7,
a
student
union
named,
Oppressed
Students
Revolutionary
Force,
threatened
few
theatres
in
Chennai,
following
which
the
theatre
owners
decided
to
stop
the
advance
booking
process.
