Vijay-Kajal Aggarwal join Jilla photoshoot

Illayathalapathy Vijay has recently wrapped up his forthcoming Tamil film Thalaivaa directed by director Vijay. Now, the actor has moved on to his next project. Yes, the Velayudham star has kick-started his next film Jilla by taking part in the photoshoots. Malayalam superstar Mohanlal and Kajal Agarwal, who play key roles in the flick, were also present on the sets.

"Vijay sir, Mohanlal sir and Kajal Aggarwal joined the photo shoot session on Sunday (April 5). The regular shooting of the film is likely to start by the end of this month," a source from the film's unit told IANS.

The film will be directed by debutant Nesan, and Vijay will be seen essaying a Madurai-based rural character, while Malayalam superstar Mohanlal as Vijay's mentor.

"We will predominantly shoot in places such as Madurai, Chennai, and also in Andhra Pradesh. Songs will be shot abroad. If everything goes well, then we will most likely release the film during Pongal next year," Nesan told IANS. Continue reading the news on the slideshow...

Kajal Aggarwal plays Vijay's love interest in the film, while yesteryear actress Poornima Bhagyaraj will be seen in another key role. Mahat Raghavendra and Parota Suri are also part of the cast.

It has to be noted that Kajal Aggarwal had earlier romanced Vijay in Thuppakki, directed by AR Murugadoss. Their chemistry in the film had impressed audience and critics.

RB Choudhary is producing the film under his home banner Mega Super Good Films. Well, the producer had given first commercial blockbuster film to Vijay in the form of Poove Unnakaga in 1996.

Poove Unnakaga eventually brought him a stardom in Tamil industry. Later, they worked in hit films like Thulladha Manamum Thullum and Tiruppachi.

Imman has been roped in to compose music, while art direction will be handled by Rajeevan. Natarajan Subramaniam is the cinematographer of the film.
