Is Ajith Reviving Thuppariyum Anand For Gautham Menon?
Gautham Menon's much-planned projects have been dropped one after the other. Some of his films were shelved at last minute for one or the other reasons. Notable among them are Yohan: Adhyayam ondru with Vijay and Surya's Dhruva Natchathiram. And also, the director had a thriller script in the form of Thuppariyum Anand, which he wanted to do with an A-list actor. Now, it appears like it is this story, which is being revived by Ajith Kumar!
As well all know, Ajith Kumar and Gautham Menon are joining hands for the first time. Their project, which was supposed to take off last month, will be launched soon. But people were not aware of the genre that they are working in. Now, rumours have emerged that it is the script of suspense-thriller Thuppariyum Anand, which has been given green signal by Ajith Kumar.

Indeed, Gautham Menon was on the verge of making the film with Surya. And, they had serious talks about the same. But for some reasons, it did not happen.
Ajith, The First Choice
Rumour say that Ajith Kumar was the first choice for Thuppariyum Anand. In 2009, they had met and discussed about the project. At that stage, the story was at nasal stage and Ajith had asked to return with bound script.
Why The Project Got Delayed?
But later, Ajith Kumar and Gautham Menon had a fall out and the director decided to do it with Surya. However, for one or the other reasons, the project did not see any progress.
Ajith Readily Agreed
When Gautham Menon approached Ajith Kumar with the bound script this time, the actor had no issues and readily agreed to star in the film.
Detective Thriller
Thuppariyum Anand is a detective-thriller that will be made like a Sherlock Holmes films. Initially, Gautham Menon wanted to make in the backdrops of 1930s with film revolving around a detective investigating series of murders held in city of ancient Chennai. But now, it is not sure.
Anushka
Meanwhile, Gautham Menon has approached Anushka Shetty to play the female lead role. She is likely to take up the project.
