Kamal Haasan Movies Which Made It To Oscar Awards!

Kamal Haasan is arguably the most talented artist in film industry India has ever produced. One can find perfection in whatever the Nayakan actor does pertaining to cinema. His movies speaks for his fine ability to display the actual emotions of characters that he portrays and it is hard to detect a particular character that he has not tried to bring it alive on-screen.

Kamal Haasan is also known for his love for technology as he has been credited for bringing new technologies into Tamil cinema that has helped Kollywood to grow immensely. His Vishwaroopam was the first film in India that was released using a technology called AURO-3D . The technology, according to the legendary actor, enriches the cinema viewing experience by delivering a full 3-D sound spread that has the capacity to reproduce a natural acoustic sound.

He is always seen in talks with the Film Artiste' Association and theatre owners to embrace new technologies that will enhance the overall experience of movie lovers. He has also got himself into trouble many times for trying to bring about a change to Indian cinema. The latest example being his disagreement with the theatre owners across India when he had suggested to release his movie Vishwaroopam on a DTH platform.

Kamal Haasan has always been a step ahead from the rest. Be it his love for technology or simply the way in which he thinks. The best example illustrating this fact is his latest interview which revealed that he had written a poem about the onset of gay marriages ten years ago but didn't publish it as it would've earned him a lot of controversies at that time. Sometimes, even his films are hard to understand due to its advance narration style for which the actor has even been criticized many a times instead of attracting praises.

But he has been equally rewarded for trying out different things as he is one actor who has represented India most number of times at a global event. Cementing this fact is the number of Kamal Haasan films that have represented India at the Academy Awards commonly known as The Oscars. His last film Vishwaroopam missed out on a chance to represent India at the Oscars last year by a whisker but Ulaganayagan can boast about his other films that have crossed boundaries.

A total of seven Kamal Haasan films have represented India at the Oscars out of which three films were sent consecutively between 1985 to 1987. Surely, the number will only get bigger as each of his film has a possible potential to be screened at a world stage and Kamal is surely not going to stop unless he realizes what it feels like to be holding an academy award.

We bring to you a list of Kamal Haasan movies that has represented India at the Oscars. We consider this as a small tribute to the artiste who might know everything but still displays a child like enthusiasm to learn more.
