CCL 4: Chennai Rhinos V/S Karnataka Bulldozers Match Photos

It couldn't have been a better finish to the game between Chennai Rhinos and Karnataka Bulldozers as the Celebrity Cricket League 4 match played between the arch rivals ended in a tie. The Sandalwood batsman hit a six in the last ball to equal the scores!

The match played in Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium in Bangalore was a thriller with both the teams performing at their best. Having won the toss, Chennai Rhinos decided to bat first and put a respectable total. Their decision turned right with the visiting team scoring 193 runs in 20 overs. But the Karnataka Bulldozers, did not loss heart as they fought bravely till the end.

Vikranth and Vishal gave a promising opening by scoring 27 runs in three overs. The Chennai Rhinos captain's wicket paved way for Vishnu to occupy the crease. What audience saw in next seven overs was a treat to all cricket lovers.

The duo put a partnership of 95 runs for the second wicket to reach 127 runs in just 10.1 overs. Vishnu scored 48 runs in 24 balls. His innings consisted of four magnificent 6s and 4s. By the time his wicket fell, the Chennai Rhinos were in comfortable situation. However, Karnataka Bulldozers made yet another breakthrough by getting opener Vikranth's wicket.

The opener scored fine 52 runs with 37 balls. He hit 10 fours all over the park. After losing two settled batsmen, Prithvi and Shantanoo occupied the crease. However, the run rate, which was more than 10 per over till Vikranth and Vishnu were on crease, started shockingly coming down with the fall of wickets at regular intervals.

Prithvi scored a quick 46 runs in 31 balls. He hit three fours and one six in his brilliant knock. Karnataka Bulldozers, after giving more than 10 runs per over in the first 10 overs, returned to game with a bang to restrict Chennai Rhinos to 193 runs.

Bhaskar was their pick of bowlers by giving 19 runs in his four overs and picking two important wickets.

Chennai Rhinos, who were reeling with huge confidence after putting a huge total, were in for a shock, as Karnataka Bulldozers started the batting by firing on all cylinders. The openers Pradeep and D Dharma gave the host team a fantastic opening and sent shivers down Chennai Rhinos' spine.

The openers hit the ball all over the ground and made Chennai Rhinos' score 193 is easily gettable. In seven overs, they got 83 runs.

Chennai Rhinos got their first break in the form of Dhruv Sharma, who scored 38 runs in 24 balls. He hit six fours in his brilliant innings. Captain Vishal gave the much-needed break for Chennai Rhinos.

But Karnataka Bulldozers did not lose heart after Dhruv Sharma's exist as opener Pradeep was rock solid on the other end. The one-down player Rahul and the opener added 36 runs for the second wicket.

Karnataka Bulldozers had scored 119 runs in 11.3 overs before losing Rahul. The chase seemed like a cakewalk for the host team, as they were scoring runs at 11+ run rate. With the lose of second wicket, they required 74 runs from 51 balls.

However, after getting the second wicket, Chennai Rhinos re-grouped and put courageous effort to slow down the run rate of the Karnataka Bulldozers.

Karnataka Bulldozers' next two players Rajeev and captain Kiccha Sudeep could not stay long in crease. When they departed, the score was 131 with the loss of four wickets at 14.1 overs.

The match had swung towards Chennai Rhinos by then as Karnataka Bulldozers required 63 runs from 35 balls.

However, Karnataka Bulldozers' only hope was opener Pradeep. He put 30-run partnership with Karthik to reach 171 runs. But the required run rate had gone up and the host needed 23 runs from 11 balls.

And Karthik too departed quickly and Chennai Rhinos had taken complete control over the game. Bhaskar and Mahesh were the new batsmen in the crease.

The last over required something unimaginable from Karnataka Bulldozers to win the match. They required 23 runs from six balls.

In the first three balls, all the winning hopes of Karnataka Bulldozers fans were shattered as it could score only five runs.

In the fourth ball, Karnataka Bulldozers scored four runs and there was a celebration at Chennai Rhinos as the host required 14 runs from two balls. The host required a miracle to win the match.

In the next ball, Bhaskar, who had sent the ball to boundary the previous ball, hit a six. Now, Karnataka Bulldozers required eight runs from one ball.

However, Shantanoo committed a big mistake by putting a wide ball, which cost Chennai Rhinos heavily. The Karnataka Bulldozers required seven runs from one ball.

Now, Karnataka Bulldozers had the last hope of tying the match. The match, which was almost over, took an interesting turn.

Well, Bhaskar did a miracle by hitting a six to tie the knot. The six hit by him was something that even international players could make them stand and salute the batsman.
