Vijay has established his supremacy at collection centres again with Jilla making wonderful business at all sectors. Starting from distribution rights till the opening, the figures have been extremely good and has proved again that there is a huge demand for his films in Kollywood.
After his Thalaivaa was marred with controversies during the release, it appeared people would hesitate to buy his next movie. But what industry insiders witnessed was extraordinary demand for the film. But the only advise that they got from different sectors of movie business was to keep Jilla a low-profile movie. But this worked out well for the producer simply because it reduced the unnecessary publicity expenses.
As soon as the word was out that Jilla would be a Pongal release, distributors from different regions showed never-before response for the film. This helped RB Choudhary to sell the theatrical rights of the film to different parties in no time for fancy prices.

Jilla was in demand in the countries like Malaysia, UK and some other countries. The producer sold the overseas rights of the various countries considering the fan following of Vijay. Overall, the film has collected Rs 11 crores from different regions.
Kerala Distribution Rights
Kerala market just got bigger for a Vijay movie this time due to the Mohanlal factor. Usually, Illayathalapathy movies' used to fetch 1-2 crores. But this time it was sold for Rs 4 crores to Mohanlal itself.
Karnataka Distribution Rights
Vijay has a good fan following in Karnataka. As a result, his movies often generated good revenue in the neighbouring state. This time, his movie was sold for Rs 2 crore.
Rest of India Rights
The rights of rest of India rights have been sold for about Rs 1 crore. The Telugu rights is expected to fetch somewhere around Rs 3-4 crores.
Satellite Rights
The TV rights of Jilla has been bought by Sun TV. They have reportedly paid Rs 16 crores. The deal includes the screening of the movie on Malayalam channels owned by the Sun Network.

Star Music acquired the audio rights of Jilla for Rs 1 crore.

In Kerala, Jilla has got an earth-shattering response, as it has made Rs 4 crores in the first weekend. This is a huge collection for a Tamil movie in this part of the world.
Karnataka
The response for Jilla has been good in Karnataka. Though the occupancy varied from show to show, the collection is impressive. In the first four days, it has earned Rs 1 crore + in the state.

Vijay's Jilla has made 192,858 USD (1.19 crores) from 69 screens. The Tamil flick made 60,000 USD, 72,000 USD and 27,000 USD on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
