Kamal Hassan, Vairamuthu Receive Padma Bhushan Awards From President

Universal Star Kamal Hassan and poet and lyricist Vairamuthu, who were conferred with Padma Bhushan Awards in January 2014, received the awards from Pranab Mukherjee, the President of India. The event was organised at Rashtrapati Bhavan earlier today (March 31).

When the news of the award was announced, Kamal Hassan had said, "I don't consider this an honour for the work I have already done. This would be an impetus to do more good work. Perhaps only then would I deserve it. I think its sheer chance and my good fortune that I have been chosen. I hope that I live long to do more to deserve this award."

Kamal Hassan has won three National awards and 19 Filmfare awards. In 1990, he also received the Padma Shri. Bollywood actress Vidya Balan, Paresh Rawal were the other actors, who were among the 126 prominent personalities to receive the Padma awards this year. Click Here To See The Photos Of Awards Ceremony
