Kaththi Box Office Review

Kaththi had a humungous opening as expected and the film has been received well by the audience so far despite the opposition faced by the movie prior to its release. Kaththi has created a record opening in Tamil Nadu collecting a whopping 12.5 crore rupees. It has easily overtaken the opening day's box office collections of Jilla and Ajith's Veeram.

The film was well received in Kerala and Karnataka as well. In Kerala, where the film was expected to do well, it has collected 1.75 crore rupees on the first day. It managed to collect 1.5 crore rupees in Karnataka and the total first day collections from India alone is said to be approximately 16 crore rupees.

It has also created an all time record for a non-Rajinikanth starrer in the US. It has managed to fetch $1,42,805 from the US premiere shows. Other than Enthiran and Kaththi, no other Tamil film has fetched over $1,00,000 from US premiere shows.

In the US, it is expected to do good business for the weekend as the movie has got positive reviews. If Kaththi manages to cross $4,00,000 mark in the US, it will be the first non-Rajinikanth or non-Kamal Haasan film to do so.

Its second and third day collections so far is pretty good as well but the competition is about to get intensified as Sharukh Khan's Happy New Year will hit screens from today. But based on its first and second day box office collections, the movie has been declared a hit.
