We Haven't Decided On Release Date Yet: Soundarya On Kochadaiiyaan

Rajinikanth starrer Kochadaiiyaan is officially postponed now. The film was supposed to hit the screens on April 11. But the date has been pushed due to the upcoming general elections. Director Soundarya Ashwin has told Oneindia that they have not finalsied the date yet.

Soundarya Ashwin spoke to Oneindia reporter in Mumbai and confirmed that Kochadaiiyaan has been postponed. On asking about their release plans, the director said, "The movie has been postponed due to the upcoming elections. We are considering many dates for its release, but nothing has been finalised." The buzz says that Kochadaiiyaan will hit the screens on May 1.

When asked about her experience of directing Rajinikanth, "I am blessed to have directed my father ...thank you. It was my dream to see him as a dancer and warrior (on screen) ...to see him do Rudra Tandav," she said.

Soundarya denied that the film was first offered to Amtiabh Bachchan. "Rajinikanth was the first choice and we did not consider any other actor," the director told our reporter.

Kochadaiiyaan stars superstar Rajinikanth in triple role and Bollywood's leading actress Deepika Padukone is playing the female lead role. "I am thankful to Deepika, Jackie Shroff, AR Rahman and everyone associated with this project," she said recently.
