Lakshmi Rai To Step Into The Shoes Of Vidya Balan

If everything goes well, Lakshmi Rai will step into the shoes of Vidya Balan. Yes, she is likely to star in the remake of Bollywood hit movie Ishqiya, which also starred Naseeruddin Shah, Arshad Warsi and Salman Shahid in the lead roles.

Lakshmi Rai has confirmed the news that the offer to do Vidya Balan's character in Tamil and Malayalam has come her way. She has seen the film and all three characters have impressed her. According to her, Vidya is brilliant in her role and it would be a challenging character for any actress to enact.

The Mankatha girl admits that she has not done such role till date and such offers come very rarely for an actress. Lakshmi Rai claims that if she does the film, it will benefit her career and the glam doll loves to enact the role famously made by Vidya Balan.

Lakshmi Rai adds that the forthcoming flick will not be a scene-to-scene copy of Ishqiya and the story will be tweaked to suit the local sensibilities. However, the actress has said that it is too early to talk about the film. Sources say that she has not signed on the dotted lines yet.

Her forthcoming films are Aranmanai and Irumbu Kuthirai in Tamil.
