Rajinikanth And Kamal Haasan Together!

Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan are two pillars of Tamil cinema if not Indian cinema. While Rajinikanth is known for his mass and his ability to pull most number of people into theatres, Kamal Haasan is all about class and perfection. Though Kamal was an established actor when Rajinikanth made his debut as an actor, Rajini managed to woo audience with his style and sense of humour and ultimately became the king of Kollywood.

Even amidst a tough competition, the two have a good understanding for each other. Rajinikanth has even said that it was Kamal Haasan who helped him to grow in the industry by showing him the correct path. He has even said that his and Kamal's mentor K.Balachander would in fact compare Rajinikanth with Kamal Haasan and would ask Rajinikanth to observe Kamal Haasan while he's at work to enhance his own acting skills.

Decades after, both have become such a prominent personalities in Kollywood that people would even die to watch them together on screen once again. Questions pertaining to their collaboration have been asked to both actors innumerable times before and both have come up with diplomatic answers until Kamal opened up about their possible collaboration on his 60th birthday when he said that he might do a film with the Superstar in near future.

This movie saw the collaboration of Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth for the second time in the same year after Avargal. Directed by Bharathiraja, the movie has kamal playing a village bumpkin who also is a cripple. Rajinikanth plays a baddie who takes advantage of Kamal's Innocence.

Thappu Thalangal was released in 1978 and is a feature film. Directed by K. Balachander, the movie has Rajinikanth and Saritha in the lead roles. Rajinikanth plays a local thug in the movie while Kamal Haasan has just done an interesting cameo.
