Rajinikanth starrer Kochadaiiyaan (Kochadaiyaan) has opened up to positive reviews in large. But critics from Hindi have given thumbs up to this motion capture technology flick. However, the underlining part of the story is that the second day collections are rock solid and the Rajini's star power has worked big time in pulling audience to theatres.
Kochadaiiyaan has managed to come out from the negative feedbacks that it has been getting over its animation quality. The first and the second days collections at Box Office will be the clear indication of how the people have loved to see the film and ignored negative response.
The early reports say that the film had 80%+ occupancy in 75% of the shows on the first day and the second day. But the collection of the Hindi version of Kochadaiiyaan is poor and the Telugu version is just average due to Nagarjuna's Manam.
A trader, on the response from audience, says, "Kochadaiiyaan has turned out to be a crowd puller. There are opinions that the film is not running into packed houses in some theatres. But the truth is that the advent of multiplexes have played big role in meeting the ticket demands. There are plexes that have completely dedicated all the screens and show to this one film." Tickets Unsold For Some Shows
"Hence, for some shows, tickets have not been completely sold. If you look at the number of shows that Kochadaiiyaan is having, you will realise that there is a good hype for the film," the trader adds.
In Bangalore, where Rajinikanth enjoys huge fan following, Kochadaiiyaan has been grandly welcomed. On the first and the second day, the film has done great business at Box Office.
Released in 30 + screens, Kochadaiiyaan had around 125 shows (2D=3D) in the IT capital city on the first day. On the second day, it had around 110 shows. But on the third day, it will reach 135 shows, which could be a new record. Kochadaiiyaan has been released in over 75 screens in Karnataka.
When it comes to Kerala, it had released in 90+ screens and it has made stupendous business. In Andhra Pradesh, it had released in close to 400 screens.
Due to Telugu big movie Manam starring Nagarjuna, Kochadaiiyaan and its Telugu version Vikramasimha could not meet the expectations.
In the US, the Thursday premiere was just an average but on Friday, it managed to pull good number of audience.
