Even
as
Kerala
is
fuming
over
the
Supreme
Court's
verdict
of
Mullaperiyar
Dam,
a
movie
having
connections
to
it
is
being
made
in
Tamil.
Yes,
it
is
none
other
than
Rajinikanth
starrer
forthcoming
movie
Lingaa.
A
rumour
in
cine
circle
is
doing
rounds
that
Lingaa
is
made
on
controversial
Mullaperiyar
Dam.
As
we
all
know,
the
issue
and
the
recent
Supreme
Court's
verdict
has
created
tensions
between
the
two
states
and
this
news
has
not
helped
the
cause.
However,
sources
from
Lingaa
team
has
denied
such
rumours
but
clarified
that
the
movie
will
touch
the
non-controversial
part.
Rajinikanth
will
be
reportedly
seen
as
the
chief
engineer
of
Mullaperiyar
Dam.
We
have
to
note
that
earlier
Tamil
Nadu
government
had
banned
English
movie
Dam
999
for
its
connections
with
Mullaperiyar
Dam.
Now,
we
have
to
wait
and
see
how
both
states
will
reach
to
this
development.
Nonetheless,
the
film
unit
will
try
hard
to
keep
itself
away
from
controversial
issues
after
Rajinikanth
faced
a
protest
by
a
section
of
Kannada
organisations
when
the
film
was
kick-started
a
few
weeks
ago.
However,
Lingaa
is
directed
by
KS
Ravikumar.
Sonakshi
Sinha
and
Anushka
Shetty
play
female
lead
in
the
forthcoming
Tamil
flick,
which
is
produced
by
leading
Kannada
producer
Rockline
Venkatesh.
Pon
Kumaran
of
Charulatha
fame
has
penned
the
story
and
the
movie
has
AR
Rahman's
music.
