her
condolence
over
the
death
of
the
legendary
film
personality.
She

Twitter
to
express
her
grief.
Balu
Mahendra
passed
away
earlier
today
after
suffering
a
heart
attack.
He
breathed
his
last
at
a
private
hospital
in
Chennai.
On
Twitter,
Sridevi
Kapoor
wrote,
"Deeply
saddened
on
the
demise
of
Balu
Mahendra.The
legacy
of
his
creations
Sadma
&
Moondaram
Pirai
will
live
on.My
condolences
to
the
family."
Balu
Mahendra,
who
started
as
a
passionate
cinematographer,
turned
director
with
Kannada
movie
Kokila.
He
did
not
restrict
himself
to
one
film
industry
as
he
worked
in
all
the
leading
film
industries
of
India
like
Hindi,
Tamil,
Malayalam,
Telugu
and
Kannada.
He
also
won
National
Awards,
State
Awards
and
many
such
awards
for
his
various
films.
Sridevi
Kapoor's
performance
in
Balu
Mahendra's
Sadma
and
Moondram
Pirai
had
earned
good
name
for
the
actress.
Both
the
movies
are
considered
as
classics,
which
also
starred
by
Kamal
Hassan.
