Surya's Surprise Party For Santosh Sivan

Surya surprised Santosh Sivan, who won the Padma Shri Award last week, by throwing a party for winning the prestigious award and making the Tamilians proud. The actor organised a bash for the ace cinematographer on Wednesday (January 29).

The birthday party was organised in Mumbai at a five star hotel. The news was confirmed by Santosh Sivan himself on his Twitter account. He wrote, "It was an awesome surprise party organized by Suriya to celebrate the Padmashri in Mumbai!" We hear that the party was attended by Madhavan, Dhanush, Prabhu Deva, Shruti Hassan, Ritesh Deshmukh, Anirudh Ravichander and others. They all had a frolicking time at the bash, say sources.

Surya and Santosh Sivan have been busy with the shooting of forthcoming Tamil movie Anjaan. And the whole team took some time to celebrate the occasion.

However, the Anjaan team is busy filming key portions of the film in Whistling Woods in Mumbai. As the unit wants to release the film for the Independence Day (August 15), the team is working super fast to meet the deadlines. The upcoming flick is directed by N Lingusamy, and Samantha, Prakash Raj, Manoj Bajpai, Vidyut Jamwal and others are in the cast.
