Vadivelu is back with Thenaliraman (Tenaliraman). The comedian-turned-hero, who was away from films for a few years, is returning with this flick. The actor badly needs a hit to revive his career.
The one-time top comedian had supported the DMK party during the last general elections. After the Karunanidhi's party lost the polls, Vadivelu kept himself away from films. There were also murmurs that there was a kind of pressure from his political rivals imposing pressure on the industry not to cast him in films.

However, now Vadivelu is ready with Thenaliraman, which has landed in controversy after several Telugu groups raised objections over the Tamil flick citing that the film shows King Srikrishna Devaraya in a bad light. They had moved the court seeking a ban but the court dismissed the case.
Thenaliraman is a comedy movie starring Vadivelu, who will be seen in dual roles, and Meenakshi Dixit. It is directed by Yuvaraj Dhayalan and produced by Kalpathi S Aghoram. Manobala, Radha Ravi, GM Kumar, Bala Singh, Mansoor Ali Khan and others are in the cast. While D Imman has composed the music, Ramnath Shetty has handled the camera.
