Usha Uthup Records A Peppy Number For Damaal Dumeel

Usha Uthup is returning to Tamil films with Damaal Dumeel. S Thaman gets the credit for bringing her back to Kollywood with the forthcoming movie starring Vaibhav Reddy and Remya Nambeesan.

The veteran singer has crooned the theme song in Damaal Dumeel. As the song required a different voice, the team approached her. When they offered her the song, she asked them to send the tune to her and she instantly liked it.

"It is the theme song for the film and will also be our promo song. I told this to Thaman and stressed that we needed a different voice. He suggested that we get Usha Uthup and I liked the idea. When we got in touch with her, she asked us to send the tune. She immediately called us after hearing it and said that she will come down to record this song," a leading daily quoted the director as saying.

The song has come out really well and the Damaal Dumeel team is predicting the track to be one of the chartbusters of 2014. It is said that Usha Uthup is very much impressed about the outcome and she has told the makers of the film that the singer would make it a point to sing this song in her concerts.

Damaal Dumeel is directed by Shree and produced by CJ Jayakumar. The film will hit the screens in February.
