Veeram-Arrambam Success Takes Ajith To Top Position

Actors become stars with their number of hits to their credits. Success of their films at the Box Office decided their star value and remuneration. And no actor has managed to remain in the top position forever as the success rate keep varying. In Tamil films, there are many actors who have come and gone, and a few have managed to remain on top.

Rajinikanth and Kamal Hassan stand tall among them followed by Vijay and Ajith Kumar, who is having a good time after delivering back-to-back superhits. The man of the moment is none other than Thala as his Pongal release Veeram has made wonderful business. Indeed, the actor's three movies out of four has become money spinners.

Ajith Kumar returned to full form with Mankatha, which was the biggest hit of 2011. In his new salt-and-pepper look, the actor managed to win the hearts. But the highlight of the film was his decision to choose a role that suited his age. He has followed the same in his next three movies - Billa 2, Arrambam and now Veeram.

Billa 2 Backfired

After delivering a massive hit in the form of Mankatha, Ajith's decision to do a sequel to Billa backfired him. His Billa 2, which had an earth-shattering opening at the Box Office, disappeared from theatres in a few weeks due to unimpressive content.

But Arrambam brought him to good form. In fact, the movie directed by Vishnuvardhan was one of the few biggest commercial hits of 2013.

However, many had doubted the prospects for his next-release Veeram as it appeared like a 90s rural movie when trailer and promotional materials were released. But what audience witnessed after the release was something very surprising.

Despite facing a huge competition from Vijay's Jilla, which had got highest number of screens, Ajith's Veeram managed to win the audience heart and make good business.
