A poll conducted by Oneindia clearly gives an indication that general audience does not like to see Illayathalapathy in Rajinikanth's place. In other words, they feel that no actor can step into the shoes of the Tamil superstar.
This debate has been often raised by media and industry. Recently, a leading magazine declared Vijay as the next superstar. It had conducted a poll on the same and the Illayathalapathy got the maximum votes. Now, the publication has planned for a grand event to honour the Nanban star for getting massive response.
On the other end, we at Oneindia conducted a fresh poll to know our readers opinion on the issue and the result is quite shocking! Well, Rajinikanth fans and regular audience have completely rejected the polls conducted by the magazine and have given a new mandate. The verdict is that only 18.97% people has no issues in accepting Vijay as the next superstar.

The interesting part is that the difference between people accept and disapprove Vijay is only just above 2%. However, there is a different perspective to the issue.
Who Gets Maximum Votes?
The massive 59.9% votes say that Rajinikanth cannot be replaced by any actor. In other words, Rajini remains as the biggest superstar of Kollywood and nobody can match him.
Highest Number Of Participants
Over 43,000 people took part in the polls and cast their votes. Around 8,100 people voted in favour of Vijay and 9,100 people disapproved the Illayathalapathy as the next superstar.
Rajinikanth Cannot Be Replaced
Above 25,800 people felt that Rajinikanth cannot be replaced. This clearly shows that the Endhiran star is still the numero uno actor in Kollywood.
However, there were many voices that supported Ajith Kumar to be the next superstar. But they agreed that even he cannot match Rajinikanth in terms of popularity.
