Vijay's Jilla Second Day Collections At Box Office
The Pongal festive atmosphere has been doubled with the release of Vijay's Jilla and Ajith Kumar's Veeram. Cine goers are enjoying this happy times by watching their favourite stars' film. The flicks were released last Friday (January 10) with a never-before hype and the response is nothing short of great. On the first day, both films rocked at the Box Office. Jilla was welcomed by Vijay's fans in a grand manner. On the first day, the Tamil flick got thunderous response and it translated into huge business. On the release day, the Tamil flick, which was released in above 375 screens, has earned somewhere between Rs 7-9 crores in Tamil Nadu alone. It made more than Rs 2.50 crores in Kerala. The total collection of the film from worldwide is expected to reach between Rs 12-13 crores.
On this response, a representative of a cinema hall in Chennai said, "We have expected such response for Jilla. Being the festival season, people here love to watch their favourite star's film. Repeated Viewers
On the second day, the response has been similar for Jilla. The film ran into packed houses in majority of screens in Tamil Nadu. In Chennai, many crazy fans of Vijay, who had already seen the movie on the first day, saw the film again. These factors will be a deciding factor in making the film to have a record breaking collection.
Dragging Parts Effect
Traders had said that a section of general audience did not like Jilla as it was dragging at parts. Those unhappy words had a minor affect on the film. But it did not impact the second day collection due to the advance booking.
Movie Bosses Yet To Confirm
On the second day, Jilla is expected to have made between Rs 7 to 8.5 crores in Tamil Nadu. But the movie bosses are yet to open up on the film's collection.
In Kerala
In Kerala, Jilla made a record-breaking collection on the release day. It was due to Mohanlal's factor. On the second day, the film has reportedly made Rs 2.35 crores.

A theatre owner in Kerala says, "We had never witnessed such a response for a Tamil flick in the recent years. Thanks to Mohanlal, who gave the film a wide release, which turned out to be a blessing for the film. The Malayalam superstar's presence in the film played a huge role in pulling the audience to the theatres."
Karnataka
Reports emerging from Karnataka say that the film is hit in the state too. This time, Vijay's film got less number of screens due to other big releases. Yet the film made stunning business. In the first two days, it has collected more than Rs 1.1 crores.
International Circuits
From the international circuits, Jilla got wonderful response from many countries. The figures are expected to be out shortly.

A trader claims, "It is a great start for Tamil film industry. The response for not only Jilla, but for Ajith Kumar's Veeram has been brilliant."

Factors that are working in favour of Jilla is undoubtedly the screen presence of Vijay and Mohanlal. The good acting of the duo, family content and action sequences are the other highlights of the film.
