Illayathalapathy took the newcomer's movie Jilla after working back-to-back with senior directors like Jayam Raja (Velayudham), Shankar (Nanban), AR Murugadoss (Thuppakki) and AL Vijay (Thalaivaa). His decision to take up a newbie Nesan's project made many to wonder whether it was a good decision after delivering hits on a trot.
