Vijay's Statement On His Meeting With Narendra Modi

Vijay, on Wednesday (April 16), surprised everyone by meeting Narendra Modi. The Kollywood actor, who had close links with Tamil Nadu's regional parties earlier, has met the BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate at a hotel in Coimbatore.

Many were curious about the meeting and expected to hear some political statements from Vijay and BJP. But the Tamil star has denied any political connection. The interesting part of the story is that in a press release, Illayathalapathy has referred to Modi as Guruji and expressed his happiness over meeting him. Vijay said, "I am really happy for the way Guruji Narendra Modi welcomed an ordinary man like me. The last time he was in Chennai, he expressed his wish to meet me. But, since I was in Hyderabad, I could not meet him. So, I went to meet him in Coimbatore."

Vijay claims that he was surprised to know that Narendra Modi knows so much about him. The press release added, "I feel great pride that one among India's most important leader knows so much about me."

Vijay met Narendra Modi in a hotel near the airport after the Gujarat's Chief Minister arrived from Salem by helicopter. The actor refused to address the press after their meeting.
